OUR ARTISTS ARE OUR PRODUCT:
large product photo   THE AHOA MISSION and HOW YOU CAN HELP US WITH FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Our artists are authentic to the creation of new vision and our mission stands behind them. We celebrate their cause.

"The ANCHOR HOUSE OF ARTISTS makes and expands creative vocational opportunities available to artists living with persistent mental illnesses, fights the social stigma that they face, and contributes to the cultural enrichment of Western Massachusetts and beyond."

Clearly the outcomes are many: saving beautiful artwork otherwise destined for destruction; important cash supplements to the artists' fixed income through eventual sales of artworks; opportunities for artists to teach, to mentor and to lead; the rebirth of belief in self; finding creative peers, enjoining the public to action through discussion of art, self-definition, mental illnesses, capacities to contribute and the refinement of support.

Established in February 1997 by sculptor Mike Tillyer, the Anchor House of Artists offers subsidized shared workshop space, exhibition space, framing services, classes, consultation to artists and community groups, and ancillary support services out of our facility in Northampton, Massachusetts. We determine our fees according to need. All interested artists are invited to call to arrange an interview. Contributors: your financial gifts make a real difference by support of artists' fees and production expenses. For information on how to get involved call: (413) 584-4323
